In 1954 a
group of friends set up the first Folk Association. Their aim was to the
main traditional festivals of the island. In 1957, after a few years of
studyng, the folk group of Selargius started its performances. Thanks to
the peculiar dances and songs and to the richness of the costumes it soon
met with success all around Sardinya. After ten years the group was set up
there were so many participants that not all of them could take part to
the performances. This is the reasons why in 1968 the group split up into
two groups: the Folk Group San Lussorio and the Folk Group Salarium.
In 1983,
after several performances and meeting with success, the two groups
decided to get together again under the name of Associazione Culturale
Kellarious. With its own chorus and competitions meeting everywhere with
outstanding success. The Associazione Culturale Kellarious is now very
often the interpreter of the traditional folk songs.
